If you are a hopeless romantic who believes in true love, second chances, and finding "The One" (like me), then you'll love this rom com. Plus, the main character is a writer and loves books. Say no more!

TITLE & AUTHOR: Talk Bookish to Me by Kate Bromley

PLOT: Kara is a 30-year old romance author living in New York City. When Kara attends the pre-wedding celebration for her best friend, she is stunned to find that her college sweetheart, Ryan, is not only friends with the groom, but is at the same party. After 10 years since their heart-wrenching break-up, Kara has to decide if she wants to let Ryan back into her heart, all while trying to publish her next novel.

THOUGHTS: Honestly, what's not to love about this book? From the beginning when Kara and Ryan are reunited again, I was hooked. While it was easy to guess how the story would end (it is a rom com after all), I had no idea the journey that the characters would need to take to get to the happy ending. Plus Ryan has a bulldog, so you can't argue with that.

Kate Bromley does an excellent job at making you want to root for the characters. By the end of the book, I felt like Kara and Ryan were friends of mine that I didn't want to see leave. I also did not see certain twists coming (insert big eye emoji). My only critique is that I'm not sure that the epilogue was needed, as it did not leave anything to the reader's imagination in terms of where life took them.

All in all, I loved this book. It was a perfect feel-good story that kept me hooked from beginning to end, and made me connect with the characters on an emotional level. This is one that I would recommend to friends, especially as a beach or a vacation read.
